Holyford is on a no through lane leading down to Horriford farm a picturesque 16th century farmhouse and Holyford woods, a community owned nature reserve, with a network of footpaths. Neighbouring Horriford farm has coarse fishing ponds.
The nearest village of Colyford is a short 10 minute walk away with a post office, excellent butchers and various pubs and restaurants.
The nearest town is Colyton, the ‘town of the rebels’ which has numerous pubs and restaurants, local shops and an electric tramway which follows the river Axe down to the sea at Seaton. There is local cycle hire available here.
The seaside towns of Seaton and Beer are only 2 miles away and to the East lies Lyme Regis and Charmouth, the famous fossil hunting beaches. The southwest coast path joins all these wonderful, yet very different beaches together making spectacular local walking, especially the ‘Undercliffs’ Nature Reserve between Seaton and Lyme Regis. A good local bus service can provide a return journey if needed!
